Golt Government French Order 1915/16
According to the Clawson book - and every other source of information I found - Colt sold 5000 Government Models to France in 1915 and early in 1916. I just bought No. 27365 that was sold to the French Government in June 1916 in a shipment of 150 pistol, which is about six month after the last delivery Clawson mentions.

Has there been some research on these pistols that took part in World War One? Does anybody know where I can get more Information on this contract. Mine was probably captured by some German soldier as it has been in Germany for a very long time.
